Who we are
The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council is one of eight regional fishery management councils established by the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act for the purpose of managing fisheries in the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Gulf of Mexico.
States with voting representation on the Council include Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi.
Public input is encouraged and appreciated as the Council continues to manage and conserve our fisheries. Learn more about the FMP process and how to become involved!
