The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council will host a series of meetings to gather public comments on two issues. Shrimp Amendment 17B considers setting harvest benchmarks, setting a target number of permits, creating a permit pool, and allowing transit through federal waters. Coral Amendment 7 considers designating protections for deep-water coral areas in the Gulf of Mexico.
