Gulf Council Convenes its Standing, Reef Fish, Mackerel, and Socioeconomic Scientific and Statistical Committees Via Webinar

The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council will host a meeting of its Standing, Reef Fish, Mackerel, and Socioeconomic Scientific and Statistical Committees via Webinar. The meeting will convene from 1:00 – 4:00 PM, EST on Tuesday, October 29, 2019.

The Scientific and Statistical Committees will review and provide feedback on the National Marine Fishery Service Office of Science and Technology’s Draft Report to Congress: Section 201 of the Modernizing Recreational Fisheries Management Act of 2018. This report addresses improvements in data collection by state and nongovernmental organizations.  The Committees will also review A Practitioners Guide to Fisheries Social Impact Assessment, a NOAA publication that serves as a manual for producing Social Impact Assessments for US marine fisheries.
