The August 24-28, 2020 Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council Meeting is cancelled because two hurricanes are developing in the Gulf of Mexico. The Question and Answer Session scheduled for the afternoon of Wednesday, August 26, 2020 is also cancelled.

The Council plans to hold an interim Council meeting in late September before the next scheduled meeting on October 26-29, 2020. Information about the interim meeting will shared via press release and will be posted on our Council Meeting Webpage as it becomes available.

“We thank everybody for their understanding,” said Dr. Tom Frazer, Chairman of the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council, “the safety of the Council, Council staff, fishermen, and the broader stakeholder community that we serve is our number one priority at this moment. We will reschedule this week’s meeting to ensure that everyone living and working along the Gulf coast has ample opportunity to secure their property and make arrangements to keep their families safe.”
