Meeting Notice

The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council will host a meeting of its Law Enforcement Technical Committee (LETC), in conjunction with the Gulf States Marine Fisheries Commission’s Law Enforcement Committee (LEC). The meeting will convene from 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m., CST, on Wednesday, March 11th at The Lodge at Gulf State Park, 21196 East Beach Boulevard, Gulf Shores, AL 36542.
The LETC will address the following:
- IUU Fishing – Coordinating responses regarding the federal negative identification of Mexico
- SEFHIER update on implementation timeline
- Illegal charters
- Closing Madison-Swanson and Steamboat Lumps MPAs to trolling
- Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary Proposed Expansion – information on proposal
- Enforcement of red snapper state management
The LEC will address the following:
