Gulf Council’s Outreach and Education Technical Committee to Meet

Meeting Notice

The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council will hold a virtual meeting of its Outreach and Education Technical Committee. The meeting will be held on November 15, 2021 from 9:00am -5:00pm EST.

The Committee will begin by reviewing its 2021 Communications Improvement Plan and 2021 communications analytics. Next, the Committee will review draft Statements of Organization Practices and Procedures for Social Media, Public Comment, and Press Releases. The Committee will review submissions for its Something’s Fishy tool renaming contest and select a winning entry. Then, the Council will hear an update on the Return ‘Em Right program which aims to reduce discard mortality of reef fish. Finally, the Committee will discuss and prioritize future communication endeavors and suggest ideas for the 2022 Communications Improvement Plan. The Committee will conclude with other business.

Public comment will be taken before the meeting adjourns.
