The President of the United States recently signed an Executive Order on Tackling the Climate Crisis at Home and Abroad. The Executive Order aims to place the climate crisis at the forefront of the Nation’s foreign policy and national security planning.
Section 216 of the Executive Order: Conserving our Nation’s Land and Waters, creates a goal to conserve at least 30 percent of our lands and waters by 2030.
The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council would like your help to identify ways to make fisheries and protected resources more resilient to climate change.
Specifically, we’re asking you to help us address section 216 (c) of the Executive Order by identifying potential management changes and/or conservation measures, and suggesting improvements in science, monitoring, and cooperative research that could make fisheries more resilient to climate change.
Please submit your suggestions here.
