Meeting Notice

The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council will host a virtual meeting of its Coral Advisory Panel and Coral Scientific and Statistical Committee. The meeting will convene from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, EST on Monday, February 7, 2022, and from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, EST on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.
The Coral Advisory Panel and Scientific and Statistical Committee will address the following:
- Overview of roles and responsibilities of the Coral Advisory Panel and Coral Scientific and Statistical Committee.
- Review of the Council’s Mesophotic and Deepwater Coral Assessment including an introduction and methodology for the project, site selection and literature review of potential Habitat Areas of Particular Concern, site prioritization for management, and data visualization dashboard.
- Update on Deepwater Horizon mesophotic and deep benthic communities restoration activities and products.
- Overview of Coral Reef Conservation Program outcomes and products.
Public comment will be held in-person and over the webinar before the meeting adjourns.
