Meeting Notice

The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council will convene a meeting of its Ad Hoc Red Snapper and Grouper-Tilefish Individual Fishing Quota (IFQ) Advisory Panel from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, EDT on June 2, 2021. The meeting will be held via webinar.
The Panel is charged with providing recommendations to the Council relative to changes in the IFQ programs. During the meeting, the panel will receive a presentation on the Red Snapper and Grouper-Tilefish IFQ programs review. The panel will also review Amendments 36B and 36C. Amendment 36B considers requiring IFQ shareholder accounts to be associated with a commercial reef fish permit. Amendment 36C considers mechanisms for establishing and administering an IFQ quota bank.
The panel is expected to discuss and make relevant recommendations. Public comment will be held over the webinar before the meeting adjourns.
