Reef Fish Amendment 53 is being developed to address the results of the most recent red grouper stock assessment (SEDAR 61).   Amendment 53 considers revising the commercial and recreational red grouper allocations and the red grouper overfishing limit, acceptable biological catch,  annual catch limits, and annual catch targets (ACT). The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council would like your input on the actions and alternatives that are under consideration. Please use the following resources to learn about what we are considering. Send us your comments by June 15, 2021 so we can summarize and present them to the Council before it takes final action at the June 2021 Council Meeting.
