The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council is currently accepting applications to fill the Ecosystem Analyst position.  This is a time-limited, full-time position with benefits based on the availability of funding from the Inflation Reduction Act Climate Resilience effort with the potential to be extended up to 3 years.

 

The Ecosystem Analyst will support the development of fishery tools and products that can be utilized by managers to identify and respond to climate impacts while supporting the advancement of climate-related fisheries management planning.  In this position, the Ecosystem Analyst will work collaboratively on the development and completion of the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Ecosystem Plan.  Specifically, the incumbent will be responsible for identifying and synthesizing data sets from multiple partners, producing professional technical products, conducting stakeholder workshops, and co-leading a summit.  This position will also assist in the development of adaptive management procedures to support more flexible Council management approaches.

 

This position requires travel and meeting attendance.  This position does not involve research fieldwork.
